You can help us empower youth.

You can play a part in empowering future generations with Better Decisions - Better Lives. There are several ways to help – donate, volunteer or help us connect to the right places.

Donate

Donations support the essential aspects of DEF -- teacher training, teacher scholarships, classroom materials, online courses and resources, and coaching and consulting to our partner schools. Donations also help us serve low-income schools and organizations that work with economically disadvantaged youth. Matching grants double the impact of your contribution. All contributions are tax deductible and 100% of your donation reaches DEF.

To make a monetary pledge to the DEF, you can:

Mail a check to:
Decision Education Foundation
745 Emerson Street
Palo Alto, CA 94301-2411

Click here to donate online (convenient, but DEF incurs processing fees for online donations).

If you would like to give a stock donation, please e-mail donate@decisioneducation.org and we'll contact you.

Volunteer

Volunteers are the backbone of DEF, assisting in curriculum development, teacher training, school support, marketing, fundraising, and public relations. For current volunteer opportunities contact volunteer@decisioneducation.org.

DEF Volunteer of the Year
Each year, DEF recognizes one particularly outstanding volunteer. The following are the volunteers who have been recognized since DEF’s inception:

2006–07: J. F. Foran for his leadership as a founding director of DEF, invaluable contribution to the development of materials for teaching decision skills, highly regarded decision consulting work with school administrators, and multiple contributions to our summer institute training programs.

2005–06: Bob Loew for his dedication to teaching decision concepts in his Pleasanton mathematics classroom. Bob's compassionate guidance through his three-week decision unit has helped many high school youth make life-changing decisions.

2003–04: Steve Tani for invaluable contributions of his time, energy, curriculum knowledge, and teaching skill and his extensive work in developing key DEF trainings and materials.

2002–03: Ali Abbas for his major contributions to multiple DEF programs, including our summer courses for high school students and teachers.

2001–02: Paul Skov for his exceptional work in leading the launch of DEF's program for at-risk youth.

Help us connect to the right places

DEF succeeds by partnering with educators and schools.  Help us identify and reach out to the media, potential benefactors, teachers and administrators, and community leaders.

Your support in whatever form you choose will help us achieve our vision and make a difference to our youth.
