Coin Flip Activity

The critical elements of a good decision are highlighted along with some of the human biases that can compromise our decision making processes. 

The Coin Flip Activity helps students learn to distinguish between “Decisions” and “Outcomes” and exposes students to Decision Quality concepts at a high level. Through this exercise, students will be introduced to a Decision Tree and will have the opportunity to see and understand how to calculate expected values. In an engaging and interactive game-like experience, the students  will witness or experience Decision Traps and come out of the lesson experiencing that decision making is more complex than we naturally assume.
